In a bid to put an end to the housing problem in Katsina State, Governor Aminu Bello Masari has entered into a strategic partnership with SAFAZ properties to construct a new estate in katsina.
Checks by KATSINA POST revealed that the Katsina State Government under the leadership of Governor Aminu Bello Masari gave the SAFAZ SHELTER & PROPERTIES NIGERIA LIMITED a free land to construct a housing estate opposite the well-known Sardauna Estate along the ring road in Katsina town.
Katsina State Governor Rt. Hon. Aminu Bello Masari this Friday evening laid the foundation for the construction of five hundred housing units at a site opposite Ahmadu Sardauna Housing estate in katsina.
Speaking during the occasion, Governor Masari requested the estate developers to consider the religion, culture and norms of the people in constructing the houses.
He noted that some of the estates built in the past had not been occupied because they failed short of the culture of the people.
The governor expressed gratitude to the special Adviser on international relations and foreign investment, Alhaji Ibrahim Zakari for the effort, which culminated in having the project.
Earlier, the managing Director of safaz properties who is the Garkuwan soron zazzau, Alhaji shuaib Isah said the company would construct 700 hundred houses in the state.
He said 500 houses in katsina while 100 each in Funtua and Daura would be constructed for people to buy.
He expressed gratitude to Masari led administration for granting free land to construct the houses.
Meanwhile, the special Adviser to the Governor on international relations and foreign investment, Alhaji Ibrahim Zakari told news men later that the houses would be constucted at two billion naira at a nine months period.
Alhaji ibrahim Zakari explained explained that the developers would provide a primary and secondary school, a police post, a health clinic and green area.
