Katsina state will get a paltry 39.2 MW from the total 285.5 MW allocated to Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO).

This is contain in a tweet by the official twitter handle of the company earlier this morning. The tweet also said that Kano State got 225.2 MW while Jigawa State got 21.1 MW.

It could be recalled that KATSINA POST reported that Katsina State got 74.2 MW on 24th October, 2016.

Here is our report of that day:

“Just like in many other places, electricity supply has  ‘significantly’ increased in the state of Katsina in recent days and in some places -weeks.

Some residents in the state interviewed by KATSINA POST said that they use o get on average 6 to 9 hours of the electricity daily.

Like many days in recent time, the residents of the state will smile today too as the Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) that is responsible for the distribution of electricity to Kano, Katsina and Jigawa announced that it has allocated a whooping 74.2MW of the commodity to Katsina State residents.

KEDCO also stated in the announcement that it has received 227.3MW in total from the national grid and also allocated 146MW and 7.1MW to Kano and Jigawa States respectively.

The formula used in the distribution of the available daily MW is however still a mystery as several request to that effect by KATSINA POST via our twitter handle @katsinapost to KEDCO’s twitter handle @kedcoplc has been ignored.”
