Katsina state committee on verification of contract staff have commence work on the second-phase of screening of over 700 contract staff in the state’s various ministries, departments and agencies.
Speaking to news men at the state’s old government house also known as Sa’idu Barda House which is the venue for the exercise, the committee chairman -Alhaji Husaini Adamu Karaduwa stated that over 730 contract staff have been forwarded to the committee for screening from the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Hospital Service Management Board and other agencies in the state.
The committee chairman who is also the special adviser to the state governor on Promotion and vocational training appealed for the cooperation of the staff to be screened to the committee in order to achieve a smooth conduct of the exercise.
He also assured that his committee members will do their best during the exercise and pass their recommendations to the executive governor after the exercise for further action.
Alhaji Husaini Adamu also added that the main aim of the exercise to re position the state civil service for better and optimum service delivery.
It could be recalled that the state government had earlier constituted a committee for the verification of civil servants in the state.
