Isa Kaita College of Education Dutsin-ma (IKCOE) and Ahmadu Bello University Zaria (ABU) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the commencement of degree programs in the college.
The provost of the college -Dr. Maigari Abdu disclosed this in Katsina. Dr. Maigari said the agreement followed series of activities, supervisions and follow-ups by the resources visitation teams of the university and the National Universities commission to the College of Education.
The also pointed out that the college is ready to uphold its part of the MoU especially that of academic excellence.
The provost therefore commended the University for finding the college suitable for affiliation with the university. He added that recently, all courses offered by the college has received full accreditation from the National Commission for colleges of Education (NCCE) in the last accreditation exercise.
Speaking shortly after signing of the MoU, the representative of the Vice Chancellor of ABU Prof. Ibrahim Sule expressed optimism that the affiliation will yield positive result. He commended the college for improving its teaching and learning techniques.
The courses approved by the NUC includes: BSc Ed. Biology, Physics, Chemistry, P.H.E., Computer Education, Integrated Science, Agricultural Education as well as B. Ed Islamic Studies and Hausa.
