The staff of the Katsina State owned tertiary institutions that include Isa Kaita College of Education (IKCOE), Hassan Usman Katsina Polytechnic (HUK, poly), Yusuf Bala Usman College of Legal Studies, Daura (YBUCLGS) and Ummaru Musa Yar’adua University (UMYUK) began to smile as Governor Masari approves their demands from the state governments.
According to a post on the Time Line of one Mustapha Mammada (who is also a staff with IKCOE), “The Katsina state governor His excellency Rt. Hon. Aminu Bello Masari has approved the following for the staff of the three tertiary institutions owned by Katsina state (IKCOE Dutsinma, HUK Poly Katsina and YBUCLGS Daura)
2. 65yrs retirement age
3. Promotions that were awaiting his approval have also been approved.
Confirming this development, the Chairman Colleges of Education Academic Staff Union (COEASU) Isa Kaita College of Education chapter, Comrade Hussaini Shehu Maska remarked that: “Following rumours this morning (12th July) that the Governor had approved only migration, the Joint Consultative Forum (JCF) Chairman and I rushed to the office of the H.O.S and I have the following f good news:
1. The Governor had approved migration!
2. The Governor had approved 65yrs retirement age!(policy approval)
3. Promotions that were awaiting his approval have also been approved
Right now office of the H.O.S is busy preparing all the necessary documents in relation to the above issues.
Comrade Maska thanked His excellency Masari and reaffirmed the support of the staff of the three tertiary institutions of the state to the administration of Governor Masari.”
