Katsina United will hope to continue with their unbeaten run in the ongoing Nigeria National League, NNL, Division A1 as they play host to Kaduna United this afternoon at the Karakanda stadium.
Since the beginning of the league, highly motivated Katsina United have not lost a single match as it is either win or draw for them.
Their last victory was the 1-0 win over Kogi United in Lokoja and the ‘Aminu Masari boys’ appear not ready to take their legs off the pedal.
Chairman of the club, Alhaji Aminu Balele Kurfi said Katsina United are going to gain promotion to the Nigeria Professional League on the field of play but not in the boardroom as other clubs try to do.
He said after it was re branded, the club has become a formidable side that can conquer any opponent so he is not surprised by what his club has achieved so far.
“ We are playing host to Kaduna United tomorrow (today) and this is another important match which want to win to prove that we are truly the team to beat in the league.
“As a sports administrator of repute, I do not depend on boardroom points. Whoever wants to challenge us should be ready to meet us on the field of play but not in the boardroom.
“So far we are yet to lose any match. It is either we win or we draw. We hope to maintain this record so that we would return to the top flight of the Nigerian league,” he said.
Kurfi attributed the club’s impressive performance to the unflinching support of Hon. Aminu Bello Masari saying the governor has provided them with everything they need to win the much desired promotion.
“Despite government’s lean purse, our Governor, His Excellency, Aminu Bello Masari has been most supportive. He has placed the club among his priorities. This is why we are highly motivated.
“We are working hard to win the promotion to justify the confidence he has reposed in the team,” he said.
