WHY GOVERNOR MASARI MAY SUSPEND MANY LOCAL GOVERNMENT STAFF IN MASHI LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA (READ THEIR OFFENSE)
The screening of Local government education authority staff in Mashi have been in progress as different misconducts are being uncovered on the process. The chairman of the screening committee of the staff at the local government education authority Alhaji Faruk Lawal Jobe made this known in an interview during the conduct of the exercise.
Alhaji Faruk Lawal who is also the special adviser to the state governor on banking and finance revealed that the screening committee had detected the problems of absenteeism to duty by some staff of local education authority in the area. He said the committee has found out some teachers who are receiving their monthly salaries regularly but they were not reporting for duty at their designated place of work.
On his further remark, he stated that some had spent 2-3 years without reporting to duty. Also some workers are found of changing their places of duty without legitimate approval by the authority. Alhaji Faruk Lawal lamented that the committee have detected some staff who were given offer of appointment for the last five years but did not report to duty in the area anymore.
Speaking on ghost workers, the chairman of the committee maintained that no ghost workers were found at the time of the screening exercise but however, some female staff working with the local government authority who are receiving salaries but are residing outside the state.
Alhaji Faruk Lawal Jobe said the committee also found out that some staff who were released by the authority to go for in-service but did not went for the studies rather comeback to their place of work and are receiving salaries monthly. The chairman of the screening committee expressed dismay on the activities of some of those found guilty in disturbing the committee to solve their problems assured readiness to leave no stone and affirmed to compile comprehensive reports for submission to Government for appropriate actions.
