The Katsina state Government says it has deleted names of children and wives of some prominent persons on the payroll of L.G councils in the state. The state Governor Aminu Bello Masari announced this at a news briefing at the ongoing verification of the Local Government staff in Katsina. He expressed dismay that these people have been in the payroll collecting salaries for 20 years. Adding that some people who do not leave in the state are collecting salary every month although, the Governor did not give the names of the prominent people who received payment, he said before the commencement of verification Government introduces signing of attendance register so as to defect ghost workers. The Governor also declared that the state government needed additional 1.2bn to settle 34 LG’s workers salaries in May.
