Katsina sliding towards the era of debt and unnecessary delay in payment of salaries – PDP chairman
Opposition PDP in Katsina state, yesterday, said it was not afraid of probe insisting that the common good of Katsina people was the guiding principle of its 16 year rulein the state. It would be recalled that current APC administration in the state has instituted a commission of inquiry to investigate activities of the immediate past PDP administration. But speaking shortly after he was sworn-in as new PDP chairman in the state, Salisu Yusuf Majigiri said the party has nothing tofear as far as the much talked about probe was concerned.Majigiri said the legacies left behind by thePDP in Katsina state could not be forgottennoting “that’s why people are clamouring for the return of the PDP rule”.
He chided the Katsina state government under the platform of APC for allegedly grinding the state to a halt assuring that “the era of debt, and unnecessary delay in payment of workers salaries will soon be over in Katsina state. Majigiri said in the last sixteen years when the PDP held sway in the state, not even a single debt was incurred but in less than one year, the APC administration secured loan of almost N30 billion.
He said the last one year of APC administration in the state was total failurewith nothing tangible to show.“They went about promising people different things but one year into their tenure, there is nothing to show except hardship all over the place”.
