
Katsina: Commissioner Directs Residents Of Jibiya Border Towns To Cultivate only Groundnut and Beans Due To Security
Katsina State Commissioner for local governments and chieftaincy affairs Alhaji Abdulkadir Ahmad Zakka has directed the residents of communities bordering Niger Republic in Jibiya local government to cultivate only Groundnut and beans for security reasons. The commissioner gave this directive during an inspection visit to the border communities. The instruction came following security issue raised by the customs officials of the border that the land for both Nigeria and Niger is being encroached by some hoodlums.
Earlier, the officer in-charge of the customs at the border -D.C Dauda Karfa told the commissioner of some instances where by some individuals were caught encroaching the boarder communities. He then appealed to the commissioner to intervene in the matter as the land belong to the Nigerian Federal Government.
