Katsina State’s Owned Tertiary Institution Gulps Almost N5b In The Last One Year -S.A Badamasi Charanchi
Katsina state government has spent almost five billion Naira (N5b) on the state’s owned tertiary institutions in the last 1 year. The special adviser to the governor on higher education -Dr. Badamasi Lawal Charanchi disclosed this during a news briefing to mark the 1 year of the Masari led administration. This according to him includes the construction and rehabilitation of infrastructures, overhead cost, salary, staff training, facility management as well as the accreditation for the introduction of degree programs at Isa Kaita College of Education, Dutsin-ma.
Similarly, the permanent secretary ministry of education Alhaji Sagir Ibrahim said since inception, the current administration has spent almost over one billion Naira (N1b) on the construction, expansion and rehabilitation of primary and secondary schools across the state. According to him also, this is in addition to the allocation of over twenty three billion (N23b) to the education sector in the 2016 budget.
