Katsina: Recruitment of 1,000 Teachers Withholds as 665 LG Staff Deployed To Primary And Secondary schools
The expectation on Gov Masari’s government to recruit new teachers for publics as a means of creating employment opportunity in the state is no longer an option.
“About 665 local government staff across the 34 local government areas of Katsina State would be posted to teach in primary and secondary schools.
The staffs are those with teaching qualifications.
Governor Aminu Masari who directed for the immediate posting of the affected staffs, yesterday, said the measures was to ensure that the staffs were effectively engaged noting that the staff should be posted to the schools that needed their services before the next school calendar.
He gave the directive when he received interim report of the Committee for the Deployment of Local Government Staff with requisite teaching qualification.
Masari also directed that teachers in primary schools with higher qualification should be posted to secondary schools.
In a terse speech while presenting the report, chairman of the committee, Maigari Danjuma said that the 665 local government staff were collecting N39.1 million monthly as salaries.
According to him, 1,435 primary school teachers with higher qualification were identified teaching in secondary schools”.
