Arrangements have been concluded for the  commencement of scheduled flights to Katsina by Arik Airlines, Governor Aminu Bello Masari of Katsina State has disclosed.

Speaking during an interface with investors and other entrepreneurs in Katsina, Governor Masari said that arrangements had been concluded between Katsina state government and Arik Air for the commencement of scheduled flights to and from Katsina on 1st of July, 2016.

The Arik Air arrangement is one of several engagements the Governor Masari-led administration is involved in its efforts to conducively open Katsina State for investors and other entrepreneurs to do business in an ambience devoid of unnecessary bureaucratic hassle and stress.

With this arrangement and a similar one being negotiated with another airline, the future of aviation in Katsina State looks bright, more so with the state’s unassailable and strategic position in the busy LAKKAJI (Lagos-Kano-Katsina-Jibia) Trade Corridor.

This also informed the convening of the hugely successful and first of its kind Economic and Investment Summit, which held between 9th and 11th of May, and had in attendance President Muhammadu Buhari, some of his ministers, ranking CBN officials, business mogul and President of Dangote Group of Companies, Alhaji Aliko Dangote and the Chairman of JAIZ Bank, Alhaji Umaru Mutallab.

  1. Katsina to where? From where to Katsina? And how many times a week?

Some arrangements with the same company by previous administration did see the light of the day, it had to finally be abandoned… I hope similar instance will not happen again.
