Katsina: Zakka Faults Location of Some Markets Constructed By Shema Administration
Katsina state commissioner of local government and chieftaicy affairs -Alhaji Abdul qadir Zakka has faulted the location of some of the modern markets constructed by the previous administration across the 34 local governments of the state.
The commissioner stated that while fielding questions from newsmen during a media chat organised by the Katsina Union of Journalist (NUJ) held at its centre in Katsina.
The commissioner argued that the previous administration did not take into consideration the appropriate and strategic location suitable for the activities of the markets attendants before the construction of the modern markets.
He also cited examples of the location of modern markets constructed at Rimi, Katsina, Funtua, Kaita and Dutsi as wrong. He however state that the governor has directed them to set a committee for the optimum utilisation of the modern markets.
He also state that his ministry has now installed punctuality and discipline among the staff of local governments through unscheduled visits and also tremendously increased the internally generated revenue of the local governments.
