Sequel to the total removal of subsidy on petroleum products by the federal government and the subsequent sky-rocketed increase in the price of the products, KATSINA POST investigations found out that petroleum stations in Katsina State has already adjusted their pump prices to the government official price of N145/litre.

KATSINA POST can also authoritatively report that the NNPC mega station in the state has also adjusted its pump price to N145/litre.

A quick and random calls placed to different local governments across the state also revealed that petroleum stations in as far as Maiadua, Funtua, Jibia, Dutsin-ma and Kankia has all adjusted their pump prices to N145/litre.

Our investigation also revealed how many fuel stations in the metropolis are closed while the few open are characterised with ‘moderately’ long queues.

KATSINA POST also interviewed some consumers and motorists to get their opinions on the price increase. While many people described it as unfortunate and insensitive, few others are of the believe that the removal of the subsidy is in the interest of the nation and that it is the right thing to do.
