Katsina: PDP To Hold Congress In 2018 – State Party PRO
The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Katsina State chapter, has disassociated itself from a purported party congress canvassed by some faceless groups in the state.
The Public Relations Officer, PRO, of the party in Katsina state, Alhaji Salisu Ali Sukuntuni, who made the position of the party on the issue known yesterday in Katsina, said the party is not planning any congress in the state.
He said “we heard that some faceless groups were going round the local governments telling members of the party on the planned congress. I wish to make it clear that the party is not planning for congresses anytime soon”.
Sukuntuni stated that the party would only organize congresses in 2018 when according to him the tenure of current executives of the party at all levels would expire.
He therefore stressed that any information that did not emanate from the party executives should be disregarded.
The PRO added that the party executives have recently toured all the 34 local governments of the state where he said members in those areas were adequately briefed on the activities of the party in the state.
